SkProd provides a way of building binary data for applications. SkProd has been historically developed for publishing tools. However, it can potentially be used for any application that needs some data to be compiled. The SkProd language emphasizes data flows. Instead of using imperative commands like if/for/while, a SkProd program describes how to produce data streams, and what operations (filters) should be applied on those data streams. Therefore, a typical SkProd program is not a sequence of functions, but rather is a tree whose roots are the input data streams, and whose leaves are the output data streams.
SkFind is a set of portable and scriptable tools that help developers build software for both publishers and end users such as search engines. It provides a simple data layout that is used to build more complex layouts. The low-level, extensible tools allow read-only access to files, Oracle databases, or other data sources. There are also high-level tools to handle word lookups, case and/or accent simplifications, full-text searches with boolean operators and exact expressions, document highlighting, file-system compression, and more.
Rsyncrypto allows you to encrypt a file or a directory structure such that they can later be synchronized to another machine using rsync. This means that local changes to the plain text file result in local changes to the cipher text file. rsyncrypto compresses the plain text file prior to encrypting it with gzip using the "rsyncable" patch, which is available from the rsync sources.
Xystray is a simple implementation of the freedesktop.org systray specification (a.k.a. notification area) for the X Window system. It is meant for use in simple desktop environments which do not provide such facility by default, such as FVWM. It may also run under GNOME or KDE if the default tray program is disabled.
ImageIM is a plugin for Gaim that lets buddies send screenshots to each other via HTTP. Users can simply click the ImageIM button, select a portion of the screen, and then send their buddy the image. If the buddy doesn't have ImageIM, they will receive a link pointing them to the image.
rsync-incr is a Linux wrapper shell (bash) script around rsync to perform automated, unattended, incremental, disk to disk backups, automatically removing old backups to make room for new ones. It produces standard mirror copies that are browsable and restorable without specific tools.
