Java Fathom is a Java library that measures the readability of English text. This package is a port of two Perl packages: Lingua::EN::Fathom and Lingua::EN::Syllable. It provides methods for measuring Fog Index, Flesch reading ease level, and Flesch-Kincaid grade level indices for English text, as well as other word/syllable statistics.

JavaBot is a chat bot for the AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo! messenger systems. It is designed to attempt to engage in conversation with people via IM. It supports such features as remote administration and full conversation logging. There is also a mechanism for eavesdropping on conversations other people are having with the bot. All administration is handled over IM, allowing remote administration. Using a simple scripting language, the bot's conversational responses can be modified to taste.

It produces a list of around 200,000 inflected verb forms for almost 4,000 Welsh verbs, along with English glosses and parsing information. It attempts to conjugate Welsh verbs that are unknown to it, and will give parsing details for random Welsh verb forms if these are known to it.
