The CDDB/CDDB_get Perl module gets the CDDB info for an audio CD. The included script was intended as a demo for CDDB_get, but over time it has gained powerful features like the ability to write to a database, offline mode, HTTP mode (including proxy), saving in standard XMCD format, and writing 'lame' commands.
The SMDP (Standard MP3 Database Project) provides a standard schema for MP3/ogg databases, APIs for numerous languages, and a few utility programs to aid in managment of the database. The goal is to standardize the format of MP3/ogg databases while making it easier for developers to incorporate database support into their MP3/ogg applications.
Ogg::Vorbis::Header is a Perl module for viewing and modifying info and comment fields of files encoded in the Ogg Vorbis compressed audio format. It uses Inline::C to access the underlying Vorbis libraries and provides an object oriented interface, an incremental loading scheme, and maintains no open filehandles between operations, which allows data structures containing many Ogg::Vorbis::Header objects to be created.
This module provides users with Decoder objects for Ogg Vorbis files. One can read data in PCM format from the stream, seek by raw bytes, PCM samples, or time, and gather decoding-specific information not provided by Ogg::Vorbis::Header. Currently, no support for the callback mechanism provided by the Vorbisfile API is supported; this may be included in future releases.
Audio::Xmpcr is a Perl API to the XM PCR Satellite radio. It offers two different operating modes (direct and remote+daemon) via a single interface, continuous device polling for instant, accurate song listings, auto notification when songs change on any channel, and a few utility programs including a Web interface for remote control/listening to the radio via icecast, a stream ripper that divides songs up into properly-named wav files (for making MP3s), and a finder that searches channels for the song(s) wanted, and records just those.
PostScript::CDCover generates a Postscript program that prints a CD cover and backlabel, with contents displayed as a tree of directories and files. The module ships with a stand-alone, ready-to-use script, pscdcover, that takes the directory tree of a CD-ROM as input and generates a cover from it. The output can be directly fed to a PostScript printer, but it is designed to be easily editable (should one wish to remove unwanted directory entries, for example).
The TunePimp library is an audio file tagging library that uses MusicBrainz for track identification/lookup. It will attempt to automatically identify the files, and will present the user with possible matches for files that are not automatically identified. Once the files are identified, it writes new metadata tags to the music files and writes the files to a user-defined directory hierarchy. It supports WAV, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, and FLAC files.
