Traffic Squeezer is a Linux kernel based WAN network traffic accelerator from Doublefish Solutions. It uses methods such as traffic compression, traffic PDU coalescing, protocol specific acceleration (such as TCP acceleration mechanisms), and quality of service. Traffic Squeezer also contains custom L7filters (application protocol filters), DPI (Deep Packet Engines) and so on to control and administrate your traffic. With Traffic Squeezer, you can optimize MPLS,ISDN, leased links, Satellite Networks, and Marine Internet, and even build your own custom WAN Appliance with Traffic Squeezer. A GUI is now supported via Doublefish Solution Aquarium. Aquarium is a Web-GUI that also supports Traffic Squeezer, Squid, and other open source solutions.
USB Network Gate (former USB to Ethernet Connector) easily connects one or more remote USB devices to your computer over Ethernet (Internet/LAN/WAN) as if the device was plugged into your own machine. It helps you share a USB device over Ethernet among multiple computers so people from all over the world (or your office) can use it. By intercepting the USB port activity of a shared USB device and redirecting it via TCP/IP,USB Network Gate lets you access your printer, scanner, Web cam, USB dongle, or any other supported USB device from your home PC or office laptop. Just plug the device in and it will automatically appear on the remote side of the connection. You can secure your USB data by enabling traffic encryption and access your USB devices remotely via WiFi.
TheSSS (The Smallest Server Suite) is a lightweight server suite distributed as a live CD. It is designed for system administrators who need a small (less than 30MB) set of server software for small local area networks. The supported servers are FTP, HTTP, SFTP, SSH, and Telnet. A proxy server (Polipo) with the Tor anonymizer is also included. The main security components are a 4MLinux Firewall (based on iptables) and Clam AntiVirus.
Dowse eases the configuration of network routing for a local area network, starting from the setup of ARP-level static entries of known peers, IP-level firewall, DHCP configuration, and local DNS cache, up to an application layer transparent proxy and optional gateways to anonymous networks such as Tor and I2P. It consists of a minimalistic script which can run on any GNU/Linux box and which, from a central configuration point, controls Ebtables, Iptables, and all the daemons needed for such operations: DnsMasq, Squid2, and Privoxy. It comes with a module system for contributed add-ons like DNSCrypt-proxy and HTTPS-everywhere.
