CsvJdbc is a read-only JDBC driver that uses Comma Separated Value (CSV) files or DBF files as database tables. It is ideal for writing data import programs or analyzing log files. The driver enables you to access a directory or a ZIP file containing CSV or DBF files as if it were a database containing tables. As there is no real database management system behind the scenes, not all JDBC functionality is available.
nf1db is an in memory database engine with SQL and JDBC interfaces. It supports transactions, commands from the SQL-2003 standard, all major data types, a number of functions, default and null values, auto-increments, constraints, primary and foreign keys, set operations, implicit and explicit joins, nested SELECT statements, quantity limits in SELECT statements, and much more.
Awake SQL is a virtual JDBC Driver and a framework that enables remote JDBC access through HTTP. It allows Android and Java desktop app developers to use regular JDBC calls to access remote SQL databases in the cloud. It implements the main data types including blobs/clobs, and supports transactions. Security has been taken into account from the design stage: server-side configuration lets admins specify strong authentication and security rules in order to protect the databases.
ERDesignerNG is a Java-based entity relationship design and database modeling tool. It has a powerful WYSIWYG interface for physical database design, supports 2D and 3D database modeling, browsing, and design, handles tables, relations, indexes, and comments, supports a central repository for all models (Model Repository), supports subject areas, supports domains, supports MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQLServer, PostgreSQL, and H2, creates the SQL DDL statements for schema creation, has an integrated schema version control system, can generate schema migration scripts for every change, stores the database definition as XML files for further processing, can export the database schema as GIF, BMP, JPEG, or SVG files, has an integrated reverse engineering module for existing schemas, has a build in schema compare feature, can generate schema documentation as PDF, HTML, RTF, and other formats, and supports schema conversion between different dialects.
SpiderDB is a lightweight database schema crawler library developed using Java. It is a simple library that can be used to Crawler the underlying schema of a database and return POJO objects, which makes it very easy to use. This library takes care of all the differences among the various database management systems, and makes application code free from the DBMS differences. You keep using same POJOs even if you change the underlying DBMS.
The Generic Repository (grepo) is a framework for Java which allows you to access (database) repositories in a generic and consistent manner. Using grepo, it is generally no longer required to provide all the boilerplate code which is necessary in order to access (database) repositories from Java. All you have to do is write appropriate database code (queries, procedures, functions, etc.), an appropriately annotated Java interface, and very little Spring configuration.
mysql-diff is a commandline database structure comparator. It compares the structure of two databases. It currently works with MySQL. A database can be specified as an SQL script or as an URL to a running database. So the tool can compare two scripts, two live databases, or a database and a script. The tool outputs SQL DDL script that can be used to convert one schema to another.
BlackRay is a relational database system designed to offer performance features commonly associated with search engines. It offers SQL support and sophisticated operational and management features. Load-balancing and operational stability by means of N+1 redundance are included. BlackRay is called a "Data Engine" since it combines traditional, relational database features and SQL with the power and flexibility of search engines. It is a true hybrid, offering transaction support, data-versioned snapshots, and sophisticated function-based indices. Wildcards, phonetic, and fuzzy logic searches are supported, as well. BlackRay supports a subset of the SQL92 standard and provides JDBC/ODBC/native driver options via the PostgreSQL protocol, in addition to an API based query option. The project is released under the GPLv2, with some drivers available under BSD-style licenses. Commercial support contracts are available as well.
