FreeSMS (Free Student Management System) is a Web application for managing an educational facility. It manages teachers and students and provides marketing, registration, course management, attendance, and a student evaluation system, and manages courses within a class environment. Profile-based management is supported for administrators, teachers, and students. Teachers and students can be registered online. Students are allowed to manage their own class enrolment and submit course evaluations, and teachers can manage student attendance. The differential factor and elegance of this project lie in the OOP standard and a modular structure. The code is clean and very extendable.
The Citations project is a simple extension that allows the user to select a text in a Web page and put it in a special bookmark file. Citations are stored in an RDF file and can be browsed in HTML view. You can save the selected text as a quoting in an internal database together with author and URL. Previously saved citations are presented in a table. Menui tems are added to the popup menu in Mozilla. Clicking a citation in the database opens the URL and highlights the text quoted.
Network and Identity Configurator is a tool that enables easy changing of the system name and network address of Linux systems. Using the NICL script allows a system administrator to activate a new system in under 30 minutes. Without it, one could easily take several days (or weeks).
FSGuide is a Norton Commander clone used by many hosting firms and individuals for advanced file management through the Web. It features user management (password protection, and access control), advanced file selection dialogs, a multiple file uploader (which can also run any application after uploading), a text viewer, a binary file viewer, a source highlighting viewer, an internal text and binary editor, language support, and much more.
The Jumplink extension for Mozilla/Firefox allows you to skip through redirect links and jump directly to the target link. This is especially useful within Hotmail messages, where all links are opened in a frame displaying at the top the useless "Close this window to return to Hotmail". When right-clicking on a link, the Jumplink extension will attempt to determine if it is a redirect link and display menu entries which let you jump through the redirection.
