389 Directory Server (formerly Fedora Directory Server) is a full-featured LDAPv3 compliant server. In addition to the standard LDAPv3 operations, it supports multi-master replication, fully online configuration and administration, chaining, virtual attributes, access control directives in the data, Virtual List View, server-side sorting, SASL, TLS/SSL, and many other features. The transactional Berkeley DB 4.2 is used as its data store and a full plug-in API allows developers to extend the the functionality of the server in many ways, and many of the core features of the server are already implemented using this API. The server is very mature, having started out as Netscape Directory Server.
The Android Scripting Environment (ASE) brings scripting languages to Android by allowing you to edit and execute scripts and interactive interpreters directly on the Android device. These scripts have access to many of the APIs available to full-fledged Android applications, but with a greatly simplified interface that makes it easy to handle intents, start activities, make phone calls, send text messages, scan bar codes, poll location and sensor data, use text-to-speech, and more. Scripts can be run interactively in a terminal, started as a long running service, or started via Locale. Python, Perl, JRuby, Lua, BeanShell, and Bourne shell are currently supported.
Anti-Spam Agent for Novell NetMail is a replacement for SpamAssassin's spamd. It will tell the NetMail server to send all new email to it for spam checking. If SpamAssassin determines that the email is spam, you can either have it deleted, or have "X-Spam-Flag: YES" added to the message header. This project also includes assistance for others to write their own NetMail agents.
Jetspeed-2 is a full implementation of the Java Portlet API. It is fully compliant with the Portlet Specification 1.0 (JSR-168). It has passed the TCK (Test Compatibility Kit) suite and is fully CERTIFIED to the Java Portlet Standard. Notable features include security components backed by LDAP and database implementations, and some robust administration interfaces. Custom portals can be built and deployed using the Jetspeed plugin for Maven. Developers can use the Jetspeed PSML language to assemble portlets, and the Apache Portals Bridges project to 'bridge' portals with existing technologies including Struts, JSF, PHP, and Perl. For GUI designers, Jetspeed comes with several built-in templates used to decorate portals and portlets.
ACDK is a development framework with a similar target of Microsoft's .NET or Sun's ONE platform, but it uses C++ as a core implementation language. It implements the standard library packages, including acdk::lang, acdk::lang::reflect, acdk::util, acdk::io, acdk::text (including regexpr), acdk::net, acdk::sql, acdk::xml, and more. Flexible allocator/garbage collection, threading, and Unicode are implemented in the core of ACDK. Extensions make C++ objects available for reflection, serialization, aspect-oriented class attributes, and [D]ynamic [M] ethod [I]nvocation. This DMI acts as an universal object oriented call interface to connect C++ with scripting languages (Java, Perl, Tcl, Python, Lisp, Visual Basic, and VBScript) and standard component technologies (CORBA and COM).
Astro::Aladin is a an object-oriented interface into the resources provided by the CDS Aladin project. The Aladin Java application is driven in script mode using an anonymous pipe, while high level access to resources is provided by the module which disguises the mechanics of the data access.
Crowd is a Web-based single sign-on (SSO) tool that simplifies application provisioning and identity management. It has connectors for popular open source projects like Apache (via Perl) and Subversion. Pre-built connectors for other popular commercial products like Jive Forums, JIRA, and Confluence are also available.
