Piccolo2D is a toolkit that supports the development of 2D structured graphics programs, in general, and Zoomable User Interfaces (ZUIs), in particular. A ZUI is a new kind of interface that presents a huge canvas of information on a traditional computer display by letting the user smoothly zoom in to get more detailed information and zoom out for an overview. It uses a "scene-graph" model that is common to 3D environments. This means that Piccolo maintains a hierarchical structure of objects and cameras.
JavaGit is a Java API that provides access to git repositories. The goal is to bring the power of git to the Java world as an API that is intuitive for developers new to git and developers who are veteran git users. It is engineered to provide the developer with access to the raw git commands through a command API as well as an object API designed to represent the .git repository, the working tree, and other familiar git concepts. JavaGit uses the git binaries installed on the host machine to provide git functionality, and has been designed to easily accommodate additional methods of access to git repositories.
SQL Construction Kit aims to provide a simple builder/factory pattern based approach to generating DML SQL for all popular RDBMS systems. Included builders are SelectBuilder, InsertBuilder, UpdateBuilder, and DeleteBuilder. It is much lighter weight than any of the ORM tools available, and is 100% Java. It is a complete re-factoring of code that has been in production use since 2001 (updated to use features of Java 6). Also included is a Facade patterned Database object that wraps a Datasource object. This provides an execution framework for the results of the Builder objects, which includes simplified transaction and batch management as well as the ability to transparently handle SQL exceptions in a default manner. The Database object also provides a simple object-oriented approach via wrappers around the database metadata.
RSyntaxTextArea is a syntax highlighting, code folding text editor. It has support for over 30 programming languages and is completely customizable. By extending JTextComponent, it easily integrates into any Swing application and provides an easy way to add syntax highlighting to a program.
JMRTD is a free implementation of the Machine Readable Travel Document (MRTD) standards as specified by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The electronic passport (or "ePassport") is an implementation of these standards. Both a card side application (the "passport applet") and a host side API for accessing electronic passports have been developed. The passport applet makes it possible to create your own passports (in case you're starting your own country). The host side API makes it possible to authenticate with a passport and read the information on the chip.
jSieve is a Java implementation of the Sieve mail filtering language defined by RFC 3028. Sieve is an extensible mail filtering language. Its limited expressiveness (no loops or variables and no tests with side effects) allows user created scripts to be run safely on email servers. Sieve is targeted at the final delivery phase (where an incoming email is transferred to a user's mailbox). jSieve is implemented as a language processor that can be plugged into any Internet mail application to add Sieve support.
