Sequoia provides high availability and performance scalability for databases. It is is the continuation of the C-JDBC project. It provides transparent database clustering (partitioning, replication, etc.). It works with any Java application without code modification and with any database engine. It has been successfully tested with Tomcat, JBoss, JOnAS, WebSphere, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache Derby, HSQLDB, SAP DB, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, MS SQL Server, Firebird, and more.
SearchAssist is a simple but practical search engine application that uses a ternary search tree. It uses Java's dynamic loading feature to make the search engine highly customizable, and uses takes Mozilla bookmarks as input. A Swing UI allows users to enter search words and view the results.
Berkeley DB XML is a native XML database engine for use within your product. Made available as a C++ library with language bindings for Java, Perl, Python, PHP, and Tcl, it integrates directly into your application (it is not a standalone database server). It provides XQuery access into a database of document containers. XML documents are stored and indexed in their native format using Berkeley DB as the transactional database engine.
The Informa RSS Library provides a convenient Java API for handling news channels and metadata about them. Different syntax formats (like RSS 0.91, 1.0 [RDF], 2.0, and Atom 0.3) for feeds are supported. There is also basic support for channel information descriptions (OPML). A full-text engine (Lucene) can be used for indexing and searching the news items. Two backends for storing the data are currently provided: In-Memory and Hibernate (which allows you to persist news items into allmost any JDBC compliant database).
DIET Agents is a multi-agent platform in Java. A bottom-up design is used to ensure that the platform is lightweight, scalable, robust, adaptive, and extensible. It is especially suitable for rapidly developing peer-to-peer prototype applications and/or adaptive, distributed applications that use bottom-up, nature-inspired techniques.
The Java Application Monitor (JAMon) is a free, simple, high performance, thread safe, Java API that allows developers to easily monitor production applications. JAMon can be used to determine application performance bottlenecks, user/application interactions, and application scalability. JAMon gathers summary statistics such as hits, execution times (total, average, minimum, maximum, standard deviation), and simultaneous application requests. JAMon statistics are displayed in the sortable JAMon report.
