Java PathFinder is a system to verify executable Java bytecode programs. In its basic form, it is a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) that is used as an explicit state software model checker, systematically exploring all potential execution paths of a program to find violations of properties like deadlocks or unhandled exceptions. Unlike traditional debuggers, it reports the whole execution path that leads to a defect. It is especially suitable to find hard-to-test concurrency defects in multithreaded programs. The system is unique in terms of its configurability, enabling adaptation to the needs of specific test applications with respect to the properties to check, and with respect to abstraction mechanisms that can be used to improve scalability.
Roadsend PHP produces optimized stand alone applications, libraries, and Web applications from standard PHP source code. The compiler produces native machine code, not PHP byte code, so no interpreter is required. It is a new implementation of the PHP language and runtime environment compatible with Zend PHP. It does not share any code with the original PHP implementation.
RJCE enables the editing of any method at runtime, applying the changes to any combination of objects, such as an array, or a complete class. It consists of a compiler, javaprec, and an IDE, Runtime Object Modifier (ROM). javaprec is used to compile programs, enabling runtime editing, and uses both sun.tools.javac and ANLTR for compilation. ROM is a JFrame used for editing methods, browsing classes, and viewing variables at runtime. It also includes an interpreter that runs Java scripts (which circumvent normal language access control) and is run from within any Java program. Aspects are also incorporated into RJCE, to enhance runtime editing.
Brainfuck Debugger is designed to encourage the development of Brainfuck programs by providing an IDE with debugging features. One of the goals of this project is to provide an environment for people who want to experiment with the fundimental processes of computers, but not get blown away with complicated syntax issues.
joeq is a Java 2 (JDK 1.3 and 1.4) compatible virtual machine. It is unique in that it is entirely implemented in Java, leading to greater reliability, portability, maintainability, and efficiency. It is also language-independent, so code from any supported language can be seamlessly compiled, linked, and executed dynamically.
Tixapps is a suite of development applications that run with Tcl/Tk or Python, using the Tix widget set. Applications currently included in Tixapps are tixinspect (an inspector for Tix/Tk applications), tixdebug (a debugger to work with tixinspect), and tixinfo (an info browser for GNU documentation).
