PL/XML is an XML based scripting language for PL/SQL. PL/SQL is the procedural language in Oracle and EnterpriseDB. PL/XML is based on CMD nodes. Each CMD node identifies a command and all parameters for that command. PL/XML supports FOR loops, CASE statements, variables, procedures, and functions.
SPL is a powerful scripting language. It features hashes, regular expressions, objects, exceptions, a built-in template language, and has a C-style syntax. It can be used stand-alone or embedded in other applications. The entire SPL toolchain (compiler, assembler, virtual machine, etc.) is pretty small (about 100k on x86 architectures). One of the more advanced VM features is the capability to dump the entire VM state to a file and resume later. It even is possible to resume on another machine with a different architecture.
BUSH (Business Shell) combines the capabilities of BASH, PHP, GCC, and databases into a uniform design for rapidly building secure, reliable Web sites. Based on an ISO standard, it promotes code reuse: scripts and templates can be compiled with GCC or ported to JVM or .Net using third party tools with only minor changes. It can also replace BASH as an interactive command shell with SQL support, and is a general purpose scripting language.
Groovy is an agile, dynamic language for the JVM which combines many features from languages like Python, Ruby, and Smalltalk and makes them available to Java developers using a Java-like syntax. It is designed to help get things done on the Java platform in a quicker, more concise, and fun way. It can be used as an alternative compiler to javac to generate standard Java bytecode to be used by any Java project or it can be used dynamically as an alternative language, such as for scripting Java objects, templating, or writing unit test cases.
The Simple components for Ada library provides implementations of smart pointers for automatically collected objects (using reference counting), object persistence, unbounded and bounded arrays of smart pointers, generic unbounded arrays of private objects and plain pointers, generic sets, maps, directed graphs, directed weighted graphs, stacks, and storage pools. It also includes table management, string editing, IEEE 754 support, and infix expression parsing tools. Implementations of some lock-free shared data structures are provided.
