The rPath Appliance Agent (rAA) is an extensible application framework for the administration of appliance devices through a Web-based user interface. The framework is comprised of individual component plugins which offer specialized functionality, such as a message log interface, user account preferences, system updates, and entitlement management capabilities. You can also develop and add plugins to the rAA framework, extending capabilities and functionality for your specific requirements.
radmind is a suite of Unix command-line tools and a server designed to remotely administer the file systems of multiple Unix machines. At its core, radmind operates as a tripwire. It is able to detect changes to any managed filesystem object, e.g. files, directories, links, etc. However, radmind goes further than just integrity checking: once a change is detected, radmind can optionally reverse the change. Each managed machine may have its own loadset composed of multiple, layered overloads. This allows, for example, the operating system to be described separately from applications. Loadsets are stored on a remote server. By updating a loadset on the server, changes can be pushed to managed machines.
rconftool is a reimplementation of Sam Varshavchik's sysconftool in Ruby. Its purpose is to keep configuration files "fresh" when upgrading an application from one version to another, ensuring that all necessary settings are present and that obsolete ones are removed. To use it, application writers need to distribute their config files marked up with some simple metadata in comments, and arrange for the "make install" or "make install-configure" target to invoke rconftool. rconftool can be called as a library function or from the command line. It can also install groups of files recursively from one directory tree into another.
regionset allows you to check and set the region code of DVD drives. This program was part of the package "dvd_disc_20000215.tar.gz" from Convergence, which is no longer distributed because of the new German copyright law. (The package also contained some CSS and copying related tools.) regionset was separated and all CSS related stuff was removed. This program is needed by everyone with a new DVD drive that doesn't have a region code set, since the drive will only play Video DVDs when the region code has been set once.
rpmorphan finds "orphaned" RPM packages on your system (packages which have no other packages depending on their installation). Console and graphical interfaces are provided. It is clone of the deborphan Debian program, but for RPM packages. It provides also some others RPM tools: rpmusage, rpmdep, and rpmduplicates.
rtkmerge is a GUI to the emerge command to handle packages under the Gentoo Linux Distrubution. It was initially written to help when running 'emerge world' to update the entire system. With rtkmerge you get all the outdated packages presented in a list and you can easily select which packages you want and don't want. USE-flags can be set individually for each package.
