W-Packager is a packager similar to dpkg that can be used by anyone to create and maintain Debian packages under Linux or other Unix systems. The aim of the project is primarily to have a workable version of a packager that can be compiled on many systems, including those that do not support fork(). At this time, W-Packager is used within UniGW. It can also be used under Linux.
rpmorphan finds "orphaned" RPM packages on your system (packages which have no other packages depending on their installation). Console and graphical interfaces are provided. It is clone of the deborphan Debian program, but for RPM packages. It provides also some others RPM tools: rpmusage, rpmdep, and rpmduplicates.
PHP Tarbackup is a simple class that allows backing up an entire Web site. It automatically works around timeout limits by splitting the job into multiple requests, allows tarball archive creation and updates, and comes with the Veloce script, which is very useful to automatically unpack tar.gz archives remotely and skip long waiting times due to FTP uploads.
Seccheck is a feature rich, modular, host-level security checker for Solaris 10. Easily expandable with customised modules, Seccheck produces highly detailed reports based around known and published security best-practices and guidelines. It also produces recommendations on how to fix flagged security issues.
Virt-Factory is a framework for managing a large number of Xen virtual machines, such as might be found in data centers or large lab configurations. It works by managing a pool of registered physical hosts and then deploying virtual machines, which have specific roles as defined by their "profiles" (profiles act as shareable virtual appliance definitions), onto those hosts. Virt-Factory provides both a Web UI (for ease of use) and an XML-RPC API (for scripting of admin actions). A command line interface (along with other advanced batch management features) is coming soon.
dpkg-du is a script to produce a dump of the installed size of Debian packages in du format. This is to enable ease of reuse with pre-existing scripts administrators may have to deal with 'du' format lists. For example, dpkg-du|sort -n|tail -10 will show the 10 biggest packages on your system.
