radmind is a suite of Unix command-line tools and a server designed to remotely administer the file systems of multiple Unix machines. At its core, radmind operates as a tripwire. It is able to detect changes to any managed filesystem object, e.g. files, directories, links, etc. However, radmind goes further than just integrity checking: once a change is detected, radmind can optionally reverse the change. Each managed machine may have its own loadset composed of multiple, layered overloads. This allows, for example, the operating system to be described separately from applications. Loadsets are stored on a remote server. By updating a loadset on the server, changes can be pushed to managed machines.

Rocks is a complete "cluster on a CD" solution for x86 and IA64 Red Hat Linux COTS clusters. Building a Rocks cluster does not require any experience in clustering, yet a cluster architect will find a flexible and programmatic way to redesign the entire software stack just below the surface (appropriately hidden from the majority of users). Although Rocks includes the tools expected from any clustering software stack (PBS, Maui, GM support, Ganglia, etc), it is unique in its simplicity of installation.

flashboot for OpenBSD is a set of makefiles, scripts, and support tools to build an OpenBSD image suitable for booting from read-only media, such as flash memory. The default image (smaller than 5Mb) is an image for a firewall/router with support for IPsec, SSH, IPv4 and IPv6 packet filtering, DHCP (client and server), and PPPoE. This image may be further trimmed or extended by editing the packing list files included in the distribution.

Elektra is a universal hierarchical configuration store, similar to GConf and the Windows Registry. It allows programs to read and save their configurations with a consistent API, and allows them to be aware of other applications' configurations, leveraging easy application integration. While architecturally similar to other OS registries, Elektra does not have most of the problems found in those implementations. Elektra includes a library, an API, and commandline and GUI tools for administration tasks.

Gentoo Category Select is a graphical tool for selecting Gentoo Package Categories to exclude from your local package repository. It does so by weaning information from multiple directories and files for convenience, as well as providing warning about categories that should not be excluded due to currently installed packages. This is achieved without the addition of a configuration file. Currently only the Qt front-end is finished. It is modularly designed for ease in creating front-ends based on other toolkits. The advantages are saved disk space (small/MMV), quicker rsync time (small/MMV), and a lessening of bandwidth requirements by gentoo.org and its mirrors.
