JumpBox for Redmine is a virtual machine with a pre-installed instance of Redmine, a project management and issue tracking system for software developers. Redmine provides many of the features in Trac plus support for multiple projects, role based access control, time tracking functionality, Gantt charts, a calendar view, and user self-registration. It includes tight integration with Subversion, and the JumpBox includes everything you need.
Compendium is a tool to generate encyclopedia-type Web sites (e.g., databases of books, authors, publishers, and literary genres) from content housed in a MySQL database, based on HTML templates. It generates pages with relatively static content and relies on Ruby on Rails for providing a backend to maintain the database. It radically separates content (in the database) from presentation. To facilitate this separation, it allows users to define their own custom tags and provides a simple translation engine to deal with, for example, tables of contents and navigation paths.
Earth allows you to find files across a large network of machines and track disk usage in real time. It consists of a daemon that indexes filesystems in real time and reports all the changes back to a central database. This can then be queried through a simple Web interface. Think of it like Spotlight or Beagle, but operating system-independent with a central database for multiple machines. Earth is initially focused on managing the explosion of data that occurs in digital visual effects work.
Devalot is a social networking application centered around software projects. It connects the user community with the development community and encourages participation and communication. It includes all the features you've come to expect in modern Web-based applications such as tagging, comments, and a wiki, as well as features you'd expect in project tracking software such as ticketing. It has features similar to some of those found in Trac, Collaboa, GForge, Mephisto, and Typo.
Ruote is a workflow engine. It's a runtime for long running business processes. Processes are explicitly defined and may be explicitly handled (start, pause, cancel, update). A process is started by handing a business process definition to the engine. A process definition is expressed in ruote’s own process definition language, which comes in three flavours: XML, a Ruby DSL, and Radial. A process definition describes the flow of work among participants. A ruote engine can simultaneously handle multiple process instances, created from one or more different process definitions. A process instance can be modified on the fly.
