Mailsync is a way of synchronizing a collection of mailboxes. The algorithm is a 3-way diff. Two mailboxes are simultaneously compared to a record of the state of both mailboxes at last sync. New messages and message deletions are propagated between the two mailboxes. Mailsync can synchronize local or remote mailboxes in many formats including IMAP(S).
LDAP Account Manager (LAM) is a web frontend for managing entries (e.g. users, groups, DHCP settings) stored in an LDAP directory. LAM was designed to make LDAP management as easy as possible for the user. It abstracts from the technical details of LDAP and allows persons without technical background to manage LDAP entries. If needed, power users may still directly edit LDAP entries via the integrated LDAP browser.
The POP and IMAP troubleshooter serves to diagnose and solve connection problems from client machines to email services. It reads the client configuration files (Outlook, Windows Mail, Thunderbird, etc.), checks the individual settings, and then attempts to create POP, IMAP, and SMTP connections using these settings. The troubleshooter is coded in C++ using the Qt environment. It can be used generically, or can be customized for the demands of a particular email service.
pop3download is a script that downloads e-mail from a POP3 or IMAP mailbox. It was originally created to work around certain fetchmail bugs, and now works as a very limited and simple alternative to it. It can keep files on the server, force CRLF line endings, poll at an interval, and pass mail through an MDA for filtering.
SSA Fetchmail is a multi-threaded solution that retrieves new emails from ISP email accounts and forwards them through different channels like email, SMS, or a local SQL repository. It supports IMAP4, POP3, SSL, SMTP TLS delivery, SMPP SMS delivery, and local delivery. SSA Fetchmail supports thousands of email accounts provisioned in a MySQL database. Its performance is better than other solutions.
Trojita is a Qt IMAP email client. It is a pure Qt4 application with no additional dependencies. It has a robust IMAP core implemented using Qt's Model-View framework. Standards compliance is a design goal. It has support for bandwidth-saving mode aimed at mobile users with expensive connections. In addition to the usual SSL/TLS connections, the server can be accessed via SSH. It has on-demand body part loading, offline IMAP support, and safe dealing with HTML mail (actually more robust than Thunderbird's).
Scalix Virtual Appliance includes a full installation of the popular email collaboration software Scalix. Open-Xchange Virtual Appliance is a virtual appliance/machine that includes a full installation of the popular email collaboration software Open-Xchange. In addition to Open-Xchange, it includes Dovecot, since Open-Xchange is not bundled with any IMAP or POP3 server. It also includes Joe (a simple text editor) and VMware Tools. The appliance was installed using Open-Xchange official guidelines.
