'NTLM Authorization Proxy Server' (APS) is a proxy software that allows you to authenticate via an MS Proxy Server using the proprietary NTLM protocol. APS has the ability to behave as a standalone proxy server and authenticate HTTP clients at Web servers using the NTLM protocol. It can change arbitrary values in your client's request headers so that those requests will look like they were created by MS IE. It is written in Python 1.5.2.
RabbIt is a mutating, caching Web proxy used to speed up surfing over slow links like modems. It does this by removing advertising and background images and scaling down images to low quality JPEGs. RabbIT is written in Java and should be able to run on any platform. It does depend upon an image converter if image scaling is on. The recommended image converter is "convert" from the ImageMagick package.

It is a simple proxy server with special features for use with dial-up Internet links. It makes it possible to browse Web pages and read them without having to remain connected. There are too many features to mention, but they include privacy control, cookie/advert blocking, efficient bandwidth usage by specifying intervals between refreshes, options to monitor pages regularly, recursive fetching, HTML cleaning, highlighting of cached links, indexes of cached pages, searching of cached pages, and many more.
Boa is a single-tasking HTTP server. That means that unlike traditional Web servers, it does not fork for each incoming connection, nor does it fork many copies of itself to handle multiple connections. It internally multiplexes all of the ongoing HTTP connections, and forks only for CGI programs (which must be separate processes), automatic directory generation, and automatic file gunzipping. Tests show boa is capable of handling up to several hundred hits per second on a 100 Mhz Pentium, dozens of hits per second on a lowly 20 MHz 386/SX, and thousands on more powerful CPUs.
