TWiki is a flexible, powerful, and simple Web based collaboration platform. It is suitable for dynamic intranets and knowledge bases, and for sharing and managing documents and collaborative projects. It resembles a normal Web site, but every page can be changed from a browser. It features automatic link generation, full text search, group authorization, Web forms, reporting, change notification, file attachments, revision control of pages and attachments, a modular templating system with skins, hierarchical navigation based on the topic parenting feature, and more. Plugins can be used to enhance the program and build groupware applications.
oXygen is an XML editor that supports any XML document, and works with XML Schemas, DTDs, Relax NG schemas, and NRL Schemas. It has powerful transformation support that allows you to edit XSLT and XSL-FO documents and to obtain documents in the desired output format (such as HTML, PS, or PDF) with just one click. It also includes a complete Subversion client, support for flattening XML Schemata, an XML Schema instance generator, integration with the X-Hive/DB, MarkLogic and TigerLogic XML databases, editing actions on the diagram, and a rename refactoring action.
bib2xhtml is a program that converts BibTeX files into HTML (specifically, XHTML 1.0). The conversion is mostly done by specialized BibTeX style files, derived from a converted bibliography style template. This ensures that the original BibTeX styles are faithfully reproduced. Some post-processing is performed by Perl code. This is an update of the bib2html program written by David Hull in 1996 and maintained by him until 1998.
Perl text2html is an HTML 4.01/CSS2 project that converts pure plain text files into very informative and professional looking HTML documentation pages. The text files require no markup whatsoever; just naturally written text. This utility predates the now similar Python-based asciidoc.
t2t can convert any delimited text file to an HTML table. It supports all attributes for the various table-related tags. It can read its input either from stdin, a file, or a whole directory. when t2t is passed in a directory, it will process all the files (except those with either .html or .htm extension), and all the files in all the sub-directories. It works on any system with Perl.
Xinha is a cross browser, cross platform Embedded WYSIWYG HTML Editor. Although it was originally a stop-gap version of the htmlArea Version 3.0rc1 editor during a period of inactivity in that project, it is now a fully fledged fork. Xinha includes a number of bugfixes and many enhancements over htmlArea, and is in active development by a small and growing number of developers.
SWEC is a program that automates testing of dynamic Web sites. It parses each HTML file it finds for links, and if those links are within the site specified, it will check that page as well. In addition to parsing and locating links, it will also parse the pages looking for known errors and report those. It will report if a page cannot be read (by either returning a 404, 500, or similar).
