Traffic Squeezer is a Linux kernel based WAN network traffic accelerator from Doublefish Solutions. It uses methods such as traffic compression, traffic PDU coalescing, protocol specific acceleration (such as TCP acceleration mechanisms), and quality of service. Traffic Squeezer also contains custom L7filters (application protocol filters), DPI (Deep Packet Engines) and so on to control and administrate your traffic. With Traffic Squeezer, you can optimize MPLS,ISDN, leased links, Satellite Networks, and Marine Internet, and even build your own custom WAN Appliance with Traffic Squeezer. A GUI is now supported via Doublefish Solution Aquarium. Aquarium is a Web-GUI that also supports Traffic Squeezer, Squid, and other open source solutions.
Nmap Observer is a small application that shows the results of an nmap scan in a Web interface. You just need to specify the range of the network on which the scan is to be performed. Then the scan results are saved to an XML file. Nmap Observer parses the results, saves the results to a database, and shows them to you.
Watch My Network is a script that detects network devices connected to your network, and saves details of these devices to a MySQL database. You can access this data with a Web browser. This user interface has tabs like "Browsing History", "New Device Control", "IP - MAC Changing", "Vlan Search", and "Operating Systems Search in My Network". This program can be run repeatedly via crontab.
Counters.pl collects the CLI counters from network devices and produces custom reports. These counters can be reset independently of the SNMP counters, and when collected weekly, can highlight issues such as connection errors that you will not see looking at graphs produced from SNMP counters. They also contain information that is not available via SNMP. The reports can be viewed on a Web site and/or sent via email. There is a flexible configuration language in which reports can be specified. The format and style of the HTML reports are controlled by Template Toolkit templates and CSS. Currently only Cisco network equipment is supported.
Linfo displays system statistics such as disk space usage, network usage, hardware information, mounted file systems, hard drives, RAM, hostname, uptime, etc. The Linux version works by parsing the /proc and /sys filesystems and also by connecting to daemons such as hddtemp for determining physical health.
