The cpufrequtils package consists of a library which offers an unified access method for userspace tools and programs to the CPU frequency and voltage scaling (cpufreq) subsystem in the Linux kernel, the "cpufreq-info" and "cpufreq-set" tools to determine and set cpufreq settings, and debug tools helpful if frequency scaling doesn't work as expected.
MegaTunix is a tuning application for the MegaSquirt EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) ECU, a semi-open design hardware fuel injection controller usable on just about any internal combustion engine. It supports most recent MegaSquirt firmwares for the MS-1, MS-2, and MS-2 Extra series. Also included is support for the JimStim ECU debugging tool and the 3rd party Performance Injection System (PIS) firmware retrofit for GM ALDL ECUs. MegaTunix includes an intelligent ECU interrogator, very flexible data logging, and a configurable and extendable GUI.
Dconf is a tool to collect a system's hardware and software configuration. It allows you to take your system configuration with you and compare systems (like nodes in a cluster) to troubleshoot hardware or software problems. It can also be configured to send out configuration changes at given intervals to a group of people, or store a new snapshot when system changes happen.
LCD-Linux is a Linux software abstraction layer to drive LCD alphanumeric displays. It features complete VT102 console emulation and aims to be as general and flexible as possible. It consists of two kernel modules, lcd-linux and the display driver. Currently, only the Hitachi HD44780 is supported, but drivers for other LCD controllers can be easily written.
Gizmo Daemon is a program for controlling your computer based on events from input devices. It has built-in support for all Linux input devices, including keyboards with special keys, joysticks, remotes, dials, and more. It lets you control applications, launch programs, change the system volume, switch desktops, and directly control Amarok. It can visualize system events (such as Amarok sound output, CPU usage, etc.) on capable devices (keyboards with LEDs, Griffin PowerMate, etc.). It also features support for LIRC and RF based remote controls, allowing it to have per-application key mappings and configurable sensitivity settings.
Gargoyle is an interface for small, widely available routers such as the Linksys WRT54G series and the La Fonera. It provides functionality above and beyond what the default software provides including sophisticated dynamic DNS, quality of service, and bandwidth monitoring tools. The primary goal is to provide a polished interface for these advanced tools that is at least as easy to configure as any existing firmware. This project is based on top of OpenWrt, but unlike other Web interfaces for OpenWrt it places a strong focus an usability and is meant for average users, not just power users.
YanC (Yet another nV Configurator) is a small tool which you can use to change the nVidia and ATI-specific settings (almost) as easily as with the Windows drivers. You can edit the settings for AGP support, the Cursor Shadow, the nVidia logo, Digital Vibrance Control, and, of course, TwinView for the nVidia drivers. For the ATI drivers, it offers support for the overlay settings, anti-aliasing, and dual monitor configuration.
OWFS (One Wire Filesystem) allows easy control of the 1-Wire bus under Linux. The bus can either be viewed in a Web browser (OWHTTPD) or as files (OWFS). This makes manipulating the 1-wire devices easy with shell scripts, Perl, C, and other programming languages. 1-Wire devices are intriguing chips made by Dallas Semi. They are cheap, uniquely numbered, and take minimal wiring to connect (a data/power line and ground are all that's required. Chip functions include memory, switches, counters, and sensors of temperature and voltage.
