The Advanced Linux Sound Architecture is composed of several parts. The first is a fully modularized sound driver which supports module autoloading, devfs, isapnp autoconfiguration, and gives complete access to analog audio, digital audio, control, mixer, synthesizer, DSP, MIDI, and timer components of audio hardware. It also includes a fully-featured kernel-level sequencer, a full compatibility layer for OSS/Free applications, an object-oriented C library which covers and enhances the ALSA kernel driver functionality for applications (client/server, plugins, PCM sharing/multiplexing, PCM metering, etc.), an interactive configuration program for the driver, and some simple utilities for basic management.
The PCI Utilities package contains various utilities dealing with the PCI bus, and also a library for portable access to PCI configuration registers. It includes `lspci' for listing all PCI devices (very useful for debugging of both kernel and device drivers) and `setpci' for manual configuration of PCI devices.
k118 is a commandline utility for driving the MAX-186/74LS373-based eight channel analog sampler sold as Kit 118 by Kitsrus. It supports four digital outputs and logging of the analog and digital inputs to a file with variable rates. The Linux Driver and API for Datel PC-462 project aims to produce a Linux driver and API for the Datel PC-462 Data Acquisition Card/Power Supply. From correspondence with Datel, there is no other Linux driver/API for this board. This software will allow developers and engineers to write test software that runs on Linux and incorporates the Datel hardware.

cmictl sets some internal parameters of CMI 8338/8738-based sound cards. It allows you to utilize the S/PDIF out of your card. cmictl can control S/PDIF-in, S/PDIF-out, S/PDIF-loop, S/PDIF-monitor (SPDIF-in to Analog-out), S/PDIF-out voltage (5V / 0.5V), and S/PDIF frequency (48kHz / 44kHz). Some parameters are only available on CMI8738-based cards.
