ebook2cw is a command line program that converts a plain text file (like an eBook) to Morse code (CW) MP3 or OGG files. Morse parameters like speed and tone frequency, and audio parameters such as bit rate, sample rate, and quality can be changed by command line switches. It automatically splits and numbers the output files by chapters.
Morse Classic is a Morse code training program for aspiring radio hams. It can generate random tests or simulated QSOs resembling those used in the ARRL test (a QSO generator is included). There are a plethora of options for varying the training method. In one of the simpler modes, this program will take text from standard input and render it as Morse code beeps.
cwwav takes one or more text files (or text read from standard input) and converts the text into an audio file (wav or mp3) containing the CW (Morse code) representation of the text. It's useful for generating practice files if you are learning CW and want to practice by listening to text. It's a very simple program but it is designed to do what it does well. That is, it is designed to produce good sounding CW output files, with proper timing and comfortable envelope to avoid keyclicks and to make the CW softer.
SvxLink is a flexible general purpose voice services system for ham radio use. It can act as a repeater controller or operate on a simplex channel. The server consists of a core that handles the connection to the transceiver. The transceiver audio is connected to the PC through the sound card, and the PTT is controlled by a pin in the serial port. The voice services are loaded into the core as modules. Examples of existing voice services are a help system, a module that plays back everything you say, a module to connect to other EchoLink stations, and a voice mail module. The project also includes an EchoLink client GUI application (Qtel).
WebFDLog is a Web-based logging program for use at Amateur Radio's yearly Field Day. It uses an SQLite backend to store contact data. Because it is Web-based, it is cross-platform and does not require the establishment of Windows peer-to-peer network shares. The project also aims to develop a LiveCD and/or VMware Player based system that contains the logging system, a DHCP server, and an mDNS system to allow as pain-free and simple installation on Field Day as possible.
