Plone is a content management system that is simple to set up, maintain, and modify. It is designed to be a corporate-ready content management system. It is ideal as an intranet and extranet server, as a document/Web publishing system, and as a groupware tool for collaboration between separately located entities. It aims to be a proper content management and publishing system, sharing the same qualities as Teamsite, Livelink, and Documentum.
GroupServer is a Web-based mailing list manager designed for large sites. It provides email interaction like a traditional mailing list manager but also supports reading, searching, and posting of messages and files via the Web. Users have forum-style profiles, and can manage their email addresses and other settings using the same Web interface. It has supports features such as Atom feeds, a basic CMS, statistics, multiple verified addresses per user, and bounce detection, and is able to be heavily customized.
Fle3 is a Web-based learning environment. More specifically, it is a server program for computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL). The Fle3 Knowledge Building tool allows groups to carry out dialogues, theory building, and debates by storing their thoughts into a shared database. While knowledge building, groups may use knowledge types (also called thinking types) to scaffold and structure their dialogues. Fle3 WebTops can be used to store items such as files and notes, organize them in folders, and share them with others. The Fle3 Jamming tool is a shared space for collaborative construction of multimedia data.
NauSite is a Content Management System and enterprise portal. It stores the data in a centralized hierarchical repository easily accessible from a Web browser. The portal interface allows users to conveniently navigate and manage information from anywhere on the Internet. Documents are created either inside Web browser or uploaded to server as files. The management interface provides abilities to publish documents for external access, conduct their accommodation and define workflows or paths of execution for them, as well as common operations such as move and copy. NuxUserGroups is a Zope product that adds the notion of groups of users. Groups provide a level of indirection in the user -> roles mapping, which provides greater flexibility. The groups are defined and managed in the User Folder. They are then used at the local roles level, where you can define an additional mapping of groups -> roles, thus giving the users who belong to these groups additionnal local roles. A workgroup can be defined simply and managed in a centralized manner.
