white_dune is a graphical VRML97/X3DV editor, simple NURBS/Superformula 3D modeller, animation tool, and VRML97/X3DV commandline compiler in development. VRML97 (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) is the ISO standard for displaying 3D data over the Web via browser plugins ("HTML for realtime 3D"). X3DV is the direct successor of VRML97. VRML97 and X3DV have support for animation, real-time interaction, and multimedia (images, movies, and sounds). white_dune can read, create, and display VRML97/X3DV files and let the user change the scenegraph/fields. It also has support for stereoscopic view via "quadbuffer"-capable stereo visuals, and support for 3D input devices like a joystick, spaceball, or magnetic tracker.
PDFreactor is a formatting processor to convert HTML and XML to PDF. It uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to define page layout and styles. It allows you to dynamically generate PDF documents such as invoices, delivery notes, shipping documents, or print versions of Web content on-the-fly. Vector graphics (SVG), barcodes, MathML, XSLT, and CMYK colors are supported. All common J2EE application servers are supported. Complete .NET, PHP, Perl, Python, and Ruby APIs are included. Direct integration into automatic build processes using Apache Ant is also possible.
Atmoslide is a Flash application for showing photos or images on a Website. Image selection is done with a list of photos that animate 3-dimensionally like CoverFlow from Apple. The main image is shown centrally above the selection list, and can have an extra added border, and an atmosperic surrounding effect which is based on the colors of the image. To implement this, you have to supply an XML file which lists all the images and all the settings.
ComicMaster is a CBR/CBZ reader for comic archives. It is able to open CBR and CBZ archives and display image contents. It allows you to add and remove single images, reorder images, and rename images in archives. It has some functionality to verify archives, and provides means to conveniently sort archives in a different folder. Those features are fairly well tested. It allows you to load a database plugin to manage comics in a PostgreSQL database, and it allows you to add meta-information in XML format to archives. The implementation of these features is currently sketchy at best.
The Vexi Platform is used for creating and deploying rich user interfaces for Internet/intranet applications that look and feel like native applications. Vexi uses a combination of a subset of XML and Javascript to provide a simple API for the development of interactive visual components. Vexi provides an intuitive, themable widget set, created using this API. Vexi interfaces then communicate with server applications through XML-RPC or SOAP.
Lightweight markup languages and XML grammars for writing prose and screenplays.
