Vis/Space is a client-server system for visually exploring data structures in 3D virtual space. It allows the placement of various data sources in a three-dimensional environment. Custom search terms can be entered into a query field, or can be navigated to and from an existing object. All objects like images and "text screens" can be moved around. A single click on an image shows the full-resolution version in the foreground. Whole collections of images can be moved. A click to the cube also toggles among several different possible layouts. Data sources include search engines, microblogging, Wikipedia, image/video search, and 4chan.
Mumudvb is a program that redistributes streams from DVB on a network using multicast or HTTP unicast. Its main feature is to multicast a whole DVB transponder by assigning each channel a different multicast Group. It can operate Conditional Access Modules (CAM), and therefore works with encrypted streams. It has very low CPU and memory usage.
HeeksCAD is a CAD application. It can import solid models from STEP and IGES files, draw construction geometry and lines and arcs, create new primitive solids, or make solids by extruding a sketch or by making a lofted solid between sketches. Solids can be modified using blending or boolean operations. Models can be saved as IGES, STEP, and STL. The 2D geometry can be plotted with a printer or to HPGL. DXF files can be imported and exported; lines, arcs, spline, ellipses, and polylines are supported. SVG import has similar capabilities. It is possible to make Add-In modules. The HeeksCNC project provides a CAM add-in, and HeeksPython provides a Python console.
HeeksCNC is a CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) add-on module for HeeksCAD. The user can add machining operations. These can then be output to NC code. The NC code is then shown as red and green lines on the screen. The NC code is generated using Python script, so it can be configured for different machines. HeeksCNC uses pycam for the "Zig Zag" operation, libarea for the "Pocket" operation, and libactp for the "Adaptive Roughing" operation.
Z88 is a fast, powerful, and compact finite elements analysis program. Z88 features 20 finite element types; it covers plane stress, plate bending, axial symmetric structures, and spacial structures up to 20-node Serendipity hexahedrons. It comes with a user-friendly interface (the Z88 Commander), and has a powerful mesh generator. It features a DXF coverter and two plot programs. The FEA solver is included, featuring an in-situ Cholesky solver along with the Jennings storage method. COSMOS and NASTRAN files from Pro/ENGINEER can be imported. Z88 is a project of the University of Bayreuth, Germany.
Impulse is a bit of eye candy for your desktop. It is a widget that displays a graphical spectrum analyzer on your GNOME desktop. It is written in C and Python, and uses GTK and Cairo graphics to generate the animation. The impulse library creates a pulse audio connection context that reads the output stream from pulseaudio in a thread natively, which can then be read from Python. You can instruct impulse to either output the raw stream or output the FFT of the raw stream.
PDFSlide is an application for displaying PDF-based presentations, such as those created by Beamer. It includes a presenter mode with current and next views. The timer view shows the current time and the elapsed presentation time. Apple Remote support is also included, which allows the presentation to be remotely controlled.
