FísicaLab is an educational application to solve physics problems. The problems are set up by adding elements from the palette to a chalkboard and entering the data for each element. The elements are objects such as blocks, pulleys, motors, and forces. It can use the SI and English unit systems, scientific notation, and many conversion factors. The types of problems that can be solved are kinematics of particles (including circular motion), static analysis of particles and rigid bodies in 2D, dynamic analysis of particles in 2D (excluding the dynamics of circular motion), heat, calorimetry, ideal gas, and expansion. The static and dynamic problems are entered by constructing the free body diagrams of the objects.
GNUSTEP Live CD contains a lot of software for GNUstep, a free implementation of the OPENSTEP framework (which is also directly used in Mac OS X as Cocoa). It includes excellent applications for RAD (GORM and ProjectCenter). The CD is available for i486, AMD64, Apple Mac PowerPC, and Sun UltraSPARC computers.
Gorm (Graphic Object Relationship Modeller) is a GNUstep application for building user interfaces and application objects relationships. Its major features include drag-and-drop creation of GUI elements from palettes, run-time loading of additional palettes, direct on-screen manipulation of GUI elements, manipulation and examination of objects via inspectors, and creation of connections between objects using mouse. It is a clone of the former NeXTstep (currently OS X) "Interface Builder" application.
Étoilé is a GNUstep-based user environment built from the ground up on highly modular and light components with project and document orientation in mind, in order to allow users to create their own workflow by reshaping or recombining provided Services (a.k.a. Applications), Components, etc.
