Coin is an implementation of Open Inventor. Open Inventor is the de facto standard API for retained-mode 3D graphics programming. Open Inventor has a highly extensible design, and has been designed to allow for rapid development of highly interactive 3D graphics applications in the fields of CAD, engineering, scientific computing, simulation, VRML, and visualization.
fsv, the 3D File System Visualizer, allows you to view a collection of directories and files as three-dimensional geometry. It represents all or part of a filesystem as a collection of blocks of varying sizes, each labeled with a filename, and arranged in a manner consistent with the original directory structure. fsv can visualize any arbitrarily large collection of files, limited only by memory and hardware constraints. Program features include an integrated 2D interface, intelligent camera handling, and extensive use of animation. fsv requires OpenGL.
Glt is a library of C++ classes and routines for programming interactive 3D graphics with OpenGL. The aim of Glt is to augment the OpenGL API with convenient mechanisms for manipulating the OpenGL state machine. Glt is a work in progress, and by no means covers the entire OpenGL specification. However, it already includes several useful classes and is designed so that additional classes can be added easily. In addition to Glt, the GlutMaster classes provide C++ wrappers for the GLUT API.
Jmol is a Free, Open Source molecule viewer and editor. It is a collaboratively developed visualization and measurement tool for chemical scientists. Jmol is an active project, and there are new features being added to it on a daily basis. Users are encouraged to modify it to fit their needs and to contribute their changes to the project.
The PVM patch for POV-Ray gives POV the ability to distribute a rendering across multiple heterogeneous systems. Using the PVM code, there is one master and many slave tasks. The master has the responsibility of dividing the image up into small blocks, which are assigned to the slaves. When the slaves have finished rendering the blocks, they are sent back to the master, which combines them to form the final image.
Raja (RAy tracer in JAva) is a complete, object oriented ray tracer written in Java. It fully supports transparency, intersection, union, complement, mirroring, basic anti-aliasing, and exact acne correction. We aim to do a complete, easy to use and distributed renderer to do images or movies over a network of heterogeneous computers.
