Eric is a full featured Python and Ruby editor and IDE, written in Python. It is based on the cross platform Qt GUI toolkit, integrating the highly flexible Scintilla editor control. It is designed to be usable as an everyday quick and dirty editor as well as being usable as a professional project management tool, integrating many advanced features that Python offers the professional coder. Eric includes a plug-in system, which allows easy extension of the IDE functionality with plug-ins downloadable from the net. Current stable versions are Eric4 based on Qt4 and Python 2 and Eric5 based on Python 3 and Qt4.
GNU Mailutils is a rich and powerful protocol-independent mail framework. It contains a series of useful mail libraries, clients, and servers. These are the primary mail utilities for the GNU system. The central library is capable of handling electronic mail in various mailbox formats and protocols, both local and remote. Specifically, this project contains a POP3 server, an IMAP4 server, and a Sieve mail filter. It also provides a POSIX "mailx" client and a collection of other handy tools.
IIPImage is an advanced high-performance feature-rich imaging server system for Web-based streamed viewing and zooming of ultra high-resolution images. It is designed to be fast and bandwidth-efficient with low processor and memory requirements. The system can comfortably handle gigapixel size images as well as advanced image features such as both 8- and 16-bit depths, CIELAB colorimetric images, and scientific imagery such as multispectral images. The server is cross-platform and can handle both TIFF and JPEG2000. Viewers exist in AJAX Javascript, Flash, and Java.

GNU Ocrad is an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) program and library based on a feature extraction method. It reads images in pbm (bitmap), pgm (greyscale), or ppm (color) formats and produces text in byte (8-bit) or UTF-8 formats. It also includes a layout analyzer that is able to separate the columns or blocks of text normally found on printed pages. Ocrad can be used as a stand-alone console application, or as a backend to other programs.
Photo Organizer is a Web-based multi-user photo management tool that was designed for professional photographers. It offers a searchable photo database that supports photo version control, a datebook with client management, photo submission history, EXIF, IPTC, XML, and XMP, user quotas, and printing labels and color brochures. It uses ImageMagick and DCRAW to handle over a hundred image formats, and relies on PostgreSQL as its database backend.
