Shrimp is a visual workflow to the RenderMan shader creation, written on top of the FLTK2 library and using OpenGL for scene display. It will let you connect blocks of functions in a visual fashion much like an electronic CAD package, and it will create a preview from the connected shaders (surface, displacement, light, etc). Once satisfied, you can export the resulting shaders and use them in your 3D scenes using any RenderMan compliant engine, such as Aqsis, 3Delight, or PRMan.
LogAnalyzer is a Web front-end for syslog and other network event data. It provides easy browsing, searching, basic analysis, and some graphics. Data is taken from databases or plain syslog text files, so LogAnalyzer does not require changes to an existing logging infrastructure. Depending on the log data present, it can process syslog messages, Windows event log entries, and some more exotic things. Its troubleshooting support enables users to quickly find solutions to problems seen in the log data. LogAnalyzer was previously called phpLogCon, and has been renamed since v3.
PostGIS adds support for geographic objects to the PostgreSQL object-relational database. In effect, PostGIS "spatially enables" the PostgreSQL server, allowing it to be used as a backend spatial database for geographic information systems (GIS), much like ESRI's SDE or Oracle's Spatial extension.
Free-SA is tool for statistical analysis of daemons' log files, similar to SARG. Its main advantages over SARG are much better speed (7x-20x), more support for reports, and W3C compliance of generated HTML/CSS reports. It can be used to help control traffic usage, to control Internet access security policies, to investigate security incidents, to evaluate server efficiency, and to detect troubles with configuration.
hamsterdb Embedded Storage is an embedded database engine written in ANSI-C. It includes B+Trees with variable length keys and records. It supports in-memory databases and endian-independent files, database cursors, multiple databases in one file, "record number" databases, and duplicate keys. hamsterdb is very fast and highly configurable. It compiles and runs on Unix platforms, Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Windows CE.
