PyNetSim targets the generation of background traffic and anomaly generation for testing anomaly detection algorithms. It is written basically without simulation in terms of computer science, but it uses parts of simulation theory. Therefore, it is a generator of such traffic types. It deploys its full power when running on many virtual machines.
Outlets is an AJAX-enabled centralized power distribution unit (PDU) manager. It has has been tested on APC and Tripplite units with SNMP functionality, but can work with other units given proper configuration. To change the name of an outlet, simply click its name and enter the new value. Press Enter to confirm or Esc to cancel. Outlets can be switched on or off by clicking the status and selecting the desired status from the drop down, then clicking OK. Changes are written via SNMP, thus each PDU must have an accessible SNMP write community. Outlets can use a standard LAMP setup, though it does not require or use MySQL. In addition, it requires the php5-snmp module. All PDUs must support SNMP v1 and be set up to allow the IP of the machine Outlets is hosted on to access SNMP. Some Tripplite units exhibit a behavior where they do not properly confirm SNMP writes and stop responding to requests for about 60 seconds after SNMP writes. They can still be managed (it's just a bit wonky), but the APC units work flawlessly.
nsLight PKI is a CGI script that uses OpenSSL to provide Public Key Infrastructure operations. Its features include key ceremony workflow for initialization, requesting of certificates in centralized mode (PKCS#12 generation), certificate view and revocation,CRL generation (at revocation time and once a day by cron job), certificate expiration notifications, and UTF-8 support. It has built-in support for RSA/SHA-1/3DES and GOST R 34.10-2001, GOST 28147-89, and GOST R 34.11-94, the cryptographic provider being OpenSSL 1.0. The script is used both as Web-based interface and cron task.
Khronosphere is an audio recording tool. Its special feature is a buffer that keeps capturing audio even before the actual recording is started. This enables the user to prospectively catch any interesting sound that normally would have been lost. The buffer size is freely definable by the user. The software itself places no restrictions; the only limits are the resources of the host system. Khronosphere is very similar to and inspired by Jack Time Machine. They both have the same basic concept, but Khronosphere supports larger buffer sizes.
