AcouSTO is a linear acoustics solver based on a Boundary Element Method (BEM) solution of the Kirchhoff-Helmholtz Integral Equation (KHIE). The code is written in C, and includes an MPI-based preliminary parallelization scheme. Plan wave scattered by a unit sphere. An (extended) FORTRAN version of this code has been used for years in the authors' research group, and has reached a remarkable level of reliability. The numerical formulation has been well assessed, as the large number of scientific papers produced throughout the years demonstrates.
Aseba is an event-based architecture for distributed control of mobile robots. It targets integrated multi-processor robots or groups of single-processor units, real or simulated. The core of aseba is a lightweight virtual machine tiny enough to run even on microcontrollers. Robots are programmed in a user-friendly scripting language using a cozy integrated development environment.
Asimulator is a simulator for intelligent agents, useful to practice search algorithms, in AI courses, or for fun. The agent's goal is to understand precepts and respond with actions in a virtual world (consisting of a grid up to 129x129) to maximize a score. The simulator opens a socket, so any language can be used for agents. (Samples in Ada are included.) Agent debug output can be shown. Both text in a log window and symbols on the map can be used to visualize thoughts.
BEAM is a toolbox and development platform for viewing, analysing, and processing of remote sensing raster data. Originally developed to facilitate the utilisation of image data from Envisat's optical instruments, BEAM now supports a growing number of other raster data formats such as GeoTIFF and NetCDF as well as data formats of other EO sensors such as MODIS, AVHRR, AVNIR, PRISM and CHRIS/Proba. Various data and algorithms are supported by dedicated extension plug-ins. It includes VISAT, an intuitive desktop application, a set of scientific tools running either from the command line or invoked by VISAT, and a rich Java API for the development of new remote sensing applications and BEAM extension plug-ins.
Babase is a baboon data management system. It is designed to facilitate the retrieval, storage, maintenance, and analysis of the following broad data categories: group membership, social status (dominance rank), life events, sexual cycle events (including progeny), sexual cycle day-to-day status, dyadic social interactions, focal animal samples, and multi-party social interactions. Integration of other data is supported. Babase is designed for Web access.
Beneath A Binary Sky is an engine that simulates a world in which robots controlled by programs can live, work, fight, and even bear new children. The long-term goal of the project is to create a fully configurable engine that can simulates any kind of world, from simple to complex ones with many rules and events.
Benojt is a fast and flexible explorer for various types of fractals. It can render escape-time fractals like Mandelbrot/Julia style fractals, Newton fractals, Lyapunov fractals, and two dimensional attractors/strange attractors. Due to its modular design, single components like iterators, renderers, and colorings can be replaced, making it easy to experiment with individual aspects of fractal creation. New iterators can be created at runtime by typing a fractal fomula which is compiled and loaded automatically.
Boolean Expression Solver is a commandline utility that generates a truth table for a given Boolean expression. It is written in Java, so it will run on any platform that has the Java runtime environment installed, but the makefile and shell-script included for convenience generally require *nix.
