adns is a replacement resolver library. Its programming interface is at once easier to use and more powerful than the standard libresolv. For example, responses are automatically decoded into native C formats, and it is possible to launch many queries and once and deal with the responses asynchronously.
adsl.sh is a Bash script to easily manage an ADSL pptp connection (most French "France Telecom" ADSL equipment uses this). It's pre-configured for this kind of connection, but you can easily edit the script to make it suit your needs. It can also update your IP adress on dhs.org and/or dyndns.org, and gracefully restart Apache (if you use VirtualHosts, it's mandatory when IP changes).
Aegis is a transaction-based software configuration management system. It provides a framework within which a team of developers may work on many changes to a program independently, and Aegis coordinates integrating these changes back into the master source of the program, with as little disruption as possible. Aegis supports geographically distributed development.
afbackup is a client-server backup system allowing many workstations to backup to a central server either simultaneously or serially. Backups can be started remotely from the server or via cron jobs on the the clients. Any streaming device, including a drive partition acting as a "virtual" tape changer, can be used for storing data. Autochangers can be used, if an appropriate auxiliary program, such as mtx or stctl, is available and working. afbackup has been tested on Linux, AIX, IRIX, FreeBSD, Digital Unix (OSF1), Solaris and HP-UX. The clientside has also been tested on SunOS and OpenBSD.
AFD is a program to automatically distribute files either locally or to remote hosts. The files are distributed by using FTP or SMTP, and can be sent in parallel and with priority. It provides a GUI to monitor and control the distribution and extensive logging of all activities.
Afghan Hound Quote of the Day Daemon uses both TCP and UDP port 17 to return a random quote from fortune(6) style quote files. It has performance benefits over other programs which use fortune(6) to source their quotes. The server also includes the ability to limit the number of client connections per second.
