Carcode is an experiment in programming education. The idea is to give beginning programmers carcode, which provides an animated car they can drive around the screen either using the keyboard or programmatically through a simple API. By working on a series of problems (such as "park the car in parking space A"), beginners learn to program in an engaging and goal-driven environment with which they already familiar.
jobBuddy searches 9 top job sites and displays listings in a single interface. It can also hide jobs users don't want, and can update results at a later time. There is no registration or third party service involved, so searches can be directly sent to the sources. Users can "dig deeper" into search results to see a wider spectrum of job options. A duplication checker ensures that you don't see the same listing more than once.
tunctl is a small tool for controlling Linux TUN/TAP devices. TUN/TAP devices are virtual network devices where software emulates the wire. With the help of tunctl, such virtual devices can be pre-created and assigned to non-root users for later use, e.g. in virtualization or emulation setups. Many other applications of TUN/TAP devices exist.
PacketFence Zero Effort NAC (ZEN) is a network access control (NAC) system. It supports registration of new network devices, detection of abnormal network activities, isolation of problematic devices, remediation through a captive portal, registration-based and scheduled vulnerability scans, VLAN isolation with VoIP support (even in heterogeneous environments) for multiple switch vendors, support for 802.1X through a FreeRADIUS module, wireless integration with FreeRADIUS, DHCP fingerprinting, and more. It consists of a fully installed and preconfigured version of PacketFence inside a VMWare image.
deltasql is a tool to synchronize databases with source code, which helps to keep database evolution under control. While developing mid-sized or big applications, developers make changes to the data model that go along with changes to the source code. From time to time, branches of source code are done to stabilize the code that will go to production. A sort of data model branch is also needed. deltasql provides a simple way to collect all scripts that change the data model and means to handle data model branches. The deltasql server runs on Apache and is backed by MySQL.
The MyCAT project is a toolset for managing MySQL/Linux servers, and could be helpful for anyone managing a network of *nix servers whether running MySQL Cluster, standard replication, or not running MySQL at all. At present, it contains three programs. rcall eases use and administration of groups (clusters) of *nix servers by creating logical groupings and a single location from which to run commands on all servers while entering it only once. It requires only an SSH connection. rep_mon is a replication monitor that notifies if a server is lagging or has encountered any errors. It handles any replication topology easily. binlog_mon monitors disk space used by MySQL binary logs, purging only when disk space is needed. It checks all slaves to ensure that purged files are not still being read by slaves. It has configurable behavior in the event that a slave still needs the oldest file.
