SimpleNetConfig is a simple network utility that helps a novice Linux user perform simple network configuration tasks. These include changing the hostname, NFS exports, Samba server, and network interfaces. It is similar to the nm-applet, which is used to configure network settings in Ubuntu. However, SimpleNetConfig differs from nm-applet significantly in that it does not ignore the standard network configuration files, such as /etc/network/interfaces.
Adtruism raises money and awareness for charities through online advertising. If you have a Web site or blog you can raise money and awareness for any charity you like by embedding an iFrame. The iFrames display advertisements, the proceeds from which go directly to the charity of your choice. At present, all money goes to the charity chosen by the Webmaster, but the plan is to give everyone some say in where the money goes. To do this, a range of browser plugins and apps are being developed that will allow users to choose a combination of charities that they would consider their ideal donation ratio. When they visit a Website with one of this software's ads embedded, it can record their preferences and then revenue can be divided up accordingly.
kvm-simple-init can perform the following actions on a KVM machine: start, stop, kill, and restart. It focuses on simplicity, and is fully implemented in just a few hundred lines of shell script. It is intended for people who do not want to run libvirt just for running a few VMs, or people who prefer to manage flat configuration files using their preferred configuration management system. It does not provide complicated configuration file format or parameters. Only two pieces of information are needed: a QEMU monitor port for the machine and the full KVM command line needed to start the machine (gives full configuration freedom). kvm-simple-init can be used directly as a system init script for starting all KVM machines on a host machine. Just drop it in /etc/init.d, and enable it with the tools provided by your UNIX distribution. kvm-simple-init was inspired by the init script of FreeBSD jails.
Redis-faina is a query analyzer that parses Redis' MONITOR command for counter/timing stats about query patterns. At its core, redis-faina uses the Redis MONITOR command, which echoes every single command (with arguments) sent to a Redis instance. It parses these entries and aggregates stats on the most commonly-hit keys, the queries that took up the most amount of time, and the most common key prefixes.
