The descriptions currently include: file status (as per the stat system call); SHA-1 hash over the file contents; MIME type (as guessed by the file tool), geospatial metadata (as per GDAL), and GRIB file composition (as per GRIB API).

TextSearch is a program to search through a set of text files in a directory structure. Each document is searched using a regular expression and an overview of the results is shown as a tree structure. By clicking on a file, it can be viewed, with matches being highlighted. As opposed to other programs out there, its focus is not so much on statistics, i.e. how often a word would occur in an entire corpus of files, but rather on occurrences in single files.

The intention is to provide a means to implement orthogonal aspects in separate classes that may be an interesting add to the application, like logging, caching, transaction control, etc., without affecting the main business logic. The package provides base classes for implementing defining point cuts where the code of an advice class is called to implement actions of the orthogonal aspects that an application may need to enable.
