ChBg is for changing desktop backgrounds in a given period. It can render images with 10 modes (such as tiled, centered, scaled, etc.). It uses Imlib1, Imlib2, or gdk_pixbuf for loading images, so it supports many image formats. ChBg has a windowed setup program, is able to load setup files, can be used as slideshow picture previewer in its own window or as a desktop background, and can be used as screensaver or as an xscreensaver hack. It has a dialog for fast previewing of pictures and very usable thumbnail previews.

GTK2 Text Editor is a simple Unicode text editor that supports many encodings. It works as a nice Notepad replacement, and can also be used as an encoding converter. It supports multi-level undo, right to left text (as in Hebrew), and other Unicode features. It can auto-close an XML/HTML tag. There is no syntax highlighting yet.

Documents can be opened directly in X11 programs by double-clicking or drag and drop. URLs can be forwarded from Mac apps to X11 programs. X11 is automatically launched if it is not already open. The distribution includes XDroplets Factory, a utility for generating your own custom X11 launchers.
