dhcpcd-gtk is a GTK+ monitor for dhcpcd. It uses dhcpcd-dbus to talk to dhcpcd and wpa_supplicant. At present, dhcpcd-gtk is just an application that sits in the notification area. The icon has several states, showing offline, address negotiation, and online. When attempting to negotiate an address, you get a nice animation. A notification bubble is also shown per interface state change. Future versions will have Access Point selection and dhcpcd configuration options.

GARP (Gnome ARP) is an ARP monitoring program written on Gnome with the GTK toolkit and Ruby. It takes ARP tables and some system variables via SNMP and ARP protocols and determines whether any machines have changed their IP address. It is useful for detecting new machines on the network and detecting which machine have changed addresses. It is intended especially for network admins.

It allows you to have multiple configurations for the same computer, and to easily configure NAT for Internet sharing. It can also be used to scan for wireless networks. It is written in Perl and uses GTK2+, but also works as a command line program.
