CartoWeb is a comprehensive and ready-to-use Web-GIS (Geographical Information System) as well as a convenient framework for building advanced and customized applications. It is based on the UMN MapServer engine. CartoWeb is highly modular and customizable thanks to its object-oriented architecture. It runs evenly on Windows or Unix-like platforms and shows its real power when associated with PostgreSQL/PostGIS. Last but not least, CartoWeb may be set up as a SOAP Web Service, allowing a front-end server on one machine and data and map generation on another.
Lux is a game of strategy and domination inspired by the board game Risk. Control your armies to conquer and hold strategic countries on the map. The object of the game is to take over the entire world. In addition to the classic Risk map, Lux has a variety of different maps available and features a map editor to create new maps. The map files are in a documented XML format. Lux comes with computer AI players ranging from easy to hard. There is also an SDK for creating robots and an Internet game tracker.
GasTracker will allow you to keep track of your gas mileage and display the results in an easy to read Web site. None of the data is harvested from the Web, but is rather entered manually by the user and for the user. Currently, the program only supports the English system of miles and gallons.
Tabfmt is a command line utility to format tabular data. The program reads lines from one or more files or from standard input, breaks the lines into fields given a set of input field delimiters, and prints a table with constant-width columns to standard output or a specified file. Many options exist to customise the output.
