x2search is a crawler based on machine learning algorithms that finds pages and documents that are similar to given positive and different to given negative examples. The learned classifiers can be exported and saved for later reuse. It features multiple settings for searching by domain/server, etc. and has a plug-in mechanism for adding document types to be searched.
Quizdrill is a learning-by-testing program to quickly learn tasks that mostly involve memorizing, like vocabulary. Quizdrill supports multiple choice, simple quiz, and flashcard testing. Although still quite primitive, Quizdrill asks questions which have been answered right more often than others to improve learning efficiency. Quizzes can be easily created by editing simple text files or can be automatically built from Infobox-style templates of Wikipedia dumps (or other MediaWikis and even Semantic MediaWikis).
The ArchivistaBox is a document management system (DMS) and archiving server. All required features are pre-installed and the implementation is kept to an absolute minimum. It features easy installation, a Web interface for both end users and administration, scanner integration, FTP scanning, PDF printing, backups, and OCR and PDF integration that allows the creation of searchable PDFs.
Jasymca is an interactive system for solving math problems. It supports arbitrary precision numbers and symbolic variables. Scalars, vectors, and matrices can be built from all datatypes and used in calculations. From the pseudoinverse of symbolic matrices over trigonometric simplifications to symbolic solutions of integrals and systems of equations, the main functionalities of CAS-programs are provided. Additionaly, high performance numerical routines from LAPACK and a plotmodule are implemented. The user interface can be selected from either an Octave/Matlab/SciLab-like language or a GNU-Maxima style. Three versions of Jasymca are provided to cover almost any computer platform: a midlet version for portable devices like cell phones or PDAs; a Java application for desktop PCs, laptops, and workstations; and an applet which can be integrated in Web pages.
