Ampache is a Web-based audio file manager. It allows you to view, edit, and play your audio files via the Web. It has support for playlists, artist and album views, album art, random play, playback via HTTP with on-the-fly transcoding and downsampling, vote based playback, playback via MPD and Icecast, an integrated Flash player, and per-user themes and song play tracking. You can also link multiple Ampache servers together using XML-RPC. Ampache supports gettext translations and has full translations into many languages.
Zina is a graphical interface to your MP3 collection, a personal jukebox, a Podcaster, and an MP3 streamer. It includes an optional Flash player, a tag editor, and can search the Web for album art and song lyrics. KMetronome is a MIDI metronome with KDE interface, based on the ALSA sequencer. The intended audience is musicians and music students. Like solid, real metronomes it is a tool to keep the rhythm while playing musical instruments. It uses MIDI for sound generation instead of digital audio, allowing low CPU usage, and very accurate timing thanks to the ALSA sequencer.
audio convert is a script that converts between WAV, Ogg, MP3, MPC, FLAC, APE, AAC, and WMA files. It has an easy-to-use interface that makes it possible to fill in the tags for a few formats, copy the tags from input files into the new files, and choose the quality of compression. The script was initially designed for the Nautilus file browser and can be easily installed into Nautilus by using the installer provided with the script. You can then right-click on files and choose "audio-convert" from the "scripts" menu. The script is also known to work on rox or directly from a shell.
Max is an application for creating high-quality audio files in various formats from CDs or files. When extracting audio from CDs, it uses cdparanoia. Once the audio is extracted, it can generate audio in over 20 compressed and uncompressed formats including MP3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, AAC, Apple Lossless, Speex, AIFF, and WAVE. It can also convert from one format to another. For many popular formats the artist and album metadata is transferred seamlessly between the old and new files. Max is integrated with FreeDB to permit automatic retrieval of CD information. For MP3, FLAC, Ogg FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, and Apple Lossless files, it will write this metadata to the output.
