Alexandria is a GNOME application to help manage a book collection. It retrieves book information (including cover pictures) from several online libraries, allows you to search for a book (either by EAN/ISBN, title, authors, or keyword), can import and export data into ONIX, Tellico, and EAN/ISBN-list formats, generates Web pages from your libraries, allows marking your books as loaned, saves data using the YAML format, features an HIG-compliant user interface, shows books in different views that can be filtered or sorted, and handles book rating and notes.
Arronax is a plugin for Nautilus (the GNOME default file manager) to create and modify application starters (".desktop files"). It adds the menu item "Create starter for this file" to the context menu (the menu you get when you right-click a file in the file manager). If the file is an application starter, you get the item “Modify this starter” instead. If you have icons enabled on your desktop, Arronax adds the menu item “Create starter” to your desktop’s context menu.
GCompris is an educational software suite with numerous activities for children aged 2 to 10. Some of the activities are game-orientated, but nonetheless still educational. These include computer discovery (keyboard, mouse, different mouse gestures), algebra (table memory, enumeration, double entry table, mirror image), science (the canal lock, the water cycle, the submarine, electric simulation), geography (place the country on the map), games (chess, memory, connect 4, oware, sudoku), reading practice, and others (learn to tell time, puzzles of famous paintings, vector drawing, cartoon making, etc.). It currently offers in excess of 100 activities, and more are being developed.
MCM is a set of tools that ease the management of multiple servers. It's aimed at network or system administrators who need to connect to different servers by different means every day. It can be used via an ncurses interface without requiring an X server, and via a GNOME-based GUI.
Mailpictures is a Nautilus extension in GTK/Perl, designed to be a more featured nautilus-sendto replacement. It allows direct access via Nautilus context menus, automatic resizing of pictures, setting for JPEG compression, ZIP archiving of the selection, support for Evolution, Thunderbird, Icedove, and Kmail, and the ability to save results in a folder.
