OpendTect is a seismic interpretation software system. It enables you to process, visualize, and interpret multi-volume seismic data using attributes and modern visiualization techniques such as stereo viewing and volume rendering. Visualization elements can be moved freely through data space to interactively analyze data from stored volumes, or data calculated on-the-fly. For more advanced work, commercial plugins are available.
The Feature Data Objects API provides a generic, command-based interface to a number of back-end data source technologies for storing, retrieving, updating, and analyzing GIS (Geographic Information System) data. A provider is a specific back-end implementation of the FDO API that provides access to data stored in a particular data source technology.
Mapx is a coordinate transformation library developed at National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC). It was initially developed from equations given by Snyder (1982). Additional projections have been added as needed. The C version currently supports 11 common projections, in both spherical and ellipsoid forms when appropriate. The Java version lags behind somewhat and currently supports nine common projections, in both spherical and ellipsoid forms when appropriate.
CGAL, the Computational Geometry Algorithms Library, is a large C++ library of geometric data structures and algorithms such as Delaunay triangulations, mesh generation, Boolean operations on polygons, and various geometry processing algorithms. CGAL is used in various areas: computer graphics, scientific visualization, computer aided design and modeling, geographic information systems, molecular biology, medical imaging, robotics and motion planning, and numerical methods.
GRASS (the Geographic Resources Analysis Support System) is a software raster- and vector-based GIS (Geographic Information System), image processing system, graphics production system, and spatial modeling system. It contains many modules for raster data manipulation, vector data manipulation, rendering images on the monitor or paper, multispectral image geocoding and processing, point data management and general data management. It also has tools for interfacing with digitizers, scanners, and the PostgreSQL, DBF, and ODBC connected databases. GRASS operates on all common operating systems.
JOpt.SDK is an automated vehicle routing and dispatching component for both Java/J2SE and .NET. It can solve Travelling Salesman Problems (TSP) and Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problems with Time Windows (CVRP,VRPTW). It offers route and transport optimisation with respect to various constraints such as time windows, load capacities, and prescribed itinerary. The component is based on genetic algorithms, and automatically determines an optimized allocation of vehicels to an arbitrary set of orders.
UDIG (User-friendly Desktop Internet GIS) is a spatial data viewer and editor with emphasis on the OpenGIS standards for Internet GIS, the Web Map Server and Web Feature Server standards. It provides a common platform for building spatial applications with open source components.
