PyTrackProfiler allows you to create high quality PDF route sheets, which useful for planning various kinds of routes (hiking, biking, etc.). It also computes useful information using the track data (time, altitude, etc.) so you can analyze an unknown track. An elevation profile and a projection representation are created. It includes high quality classes for drawing line graphics (XY axis, multi-Y axis, autolabels, autoscale, etc.), parsers for OziExplorer and CompeGPS file formats, support for UTM to latitude/longitude conversion, distance calculation, and angle calculation, support for the Polar HRM hear rate monitor file format, a PDF generator, and more.
shape2ge is a set of two applications for converting ESRI shapefiles into Google Earth KML files. It consists of a batchable converter engine that reads conversion options from an XML config file generated by the front-end or other methods. The CLI-based front-end allows you set scales and offsets (from shapefile coords to earth coords), and also to assign different display styles to different feature types.
Fieldtrip allows content experts to produce online e-case studies with limited support from computer and media specialists. Case studies include a group of events, each of which have a place (on a map) and a time (on a timeline), and can be associated with other media elements such as photos, animation, audio, and video. It is designed for students, researchers, and educators at the graduate and post-graduate level and for professionals and practitioners.
mumpot is an application for viewing, simple editing, and routing of OpenStreetMap data. It loads the tiles@home and mapnik tiles, can print the maps at some fixed scales, and has some tools for route planning. Without OSM vector data, lines can be drawn onto the map; with vector data, real shortest paths searches can be done. The route can also be calculated from the current position. OSM vector data can be loaded to do routing and editing tags. Some live editing is possible under good GPS conditions.
