SMX is a cross-platform dynamic HTML generation language. It is a high level language that is easier to learn than PHP or Perl, but is just as powerful for Web page creation. It was originally designed for developing financial reporting software, and is still uniquely suited for that sort of customer-driven Web development. It features builtin support for ODBC queries, preformatted HTML, linking to Perl or PHP, and much more. It supports Basic authentication and Digest authentication.
Shellac allows you to run powerful UNIX tools within Mac OS X Automator workflows. It includes cat, cut, grep, head, paste, sort, tail, uniq, wc, and more. Aqua controls can be used to tweak any setting of the tool. Plain-language descriptions may be read straight from the Automator interface, and tooltips are provided. Tools may be found by their UNIX names. Either explicit text, files, or folders are accepted as input. It is packaged as a self-contained application for easy installation.
SiSU (Structured information, Serialized Units) is a lightweight markup based, text structuring and publishing framework (that features granular search). With minimal markup of a plaintext file, it produces: plain-text, HTML, XHTML, XML, ODF, LaTeX, PDF, and populates an SQL database at an object/paragraph level for granular searches. Prepare documents using your text editor of choice, then use SiSU to generate the desired output formats. SiSU is controlled from the command line.
Structured Document Validator implements a generalized method for validating both the structure and content of structured documents. Any data format that can be deterministically divided into tags and data is classed as a structured document. This definition applies to a wide array of data formats, including XML, Java properties files, and delimited value files. The application performs validations based on user-defined Structured Document Definitions (SDDs). It provides an environment for validation, SDD development, and document editing.
The Stylus/Handwriting Input Panel (SHIP) is a system for gesture text entry for Tablet computers using an X11 user interface. Text may be entered from an on-screen keyboard or by handwriting (either printed or cursive handwriting), but this requires a server application (which is included) to be installed on a copy of Windows Tablet XP or Vista.
