Stendhal is a multiplayer online adventure game (MMORPG) developed using the Arianne game development system. It features a rich and expanding world in which you can explore towns, buildings, plains, caves, and dungeons. You will meet NPCs and acquire tasks and quests for valuable experience and cold hard cash. Your character will develop and grow, and with each new level up become stronger and better. With the money you acquire, you can buy new items and improve your armour and weapons. You can also roam the world in search of evil monsters (and kill them).
The WorldForge Project is developing a complete, distributable framework for massively multiplayer online roleplaying games. The system will include a number of fully developed roleplaying worlds with unique maps, histories, creatures and legends. To run these worlds on the servers a balanced but highly customisable set of roleplaying rules is being developed. Provisions will be made to allow others the ability to recode the servers to use alternate rule sets. A standard protocol named Atlas is being developed to allow a common communication layer between clients, servers, and associated tools. For software packages that make up the system being developed by the WorldForge project, please see the dependencies for this record.
rndgen is a Java application that mirrors the functionality available from Leon's Random Generators. They use a database of words and sentence forms to create various kinds of random text, including band names, song lyrics, jokes, advice, and essays. They are whimsical and mostly nonsense. You definitely need a particular sense of humor to appreciate them.
GEMpire is a simple turn based multiplayer strategy game, written in java, designed to be played over the internet in client-server fashion. It is a generalization of the commercial game Empire Deluxe for the PC. It consists mainly of a server, a client, a map editor, and a random map generator.
Colossus is an attempt to create a Java clone of Avalon Hill's Titan, an out-of-print fantasy wargame. The main goal is networked multiplayer, allowing Titan players to more easily find opponents (networking works, but is not very robust yet). There is a working but not very strong AI, and in addition to the standard game, Colossus includes support for several variants.
