Thousand Parsec is a turn-based space empire building game, as well as a framework for creating a similar group of games, which are often called 4X games (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate). Some examples of games from which Thousand Parsec draws ideas are Reach for the Stars, Stars!, VGA Planets, Master of Orion, and Galactic Civilizations. Unlike commercial alternatives, it is designed for long games supporting universes as large as your computer can handle. It allows a high degree of player customization, and features a flexible technology system where new technologies may be introduced mid-game.
libtour is a generic tournament processing library. The rules, participants, schedule, and results of a sporting tournament can be defined in the Scheme programming language and given to the library as input. Halyard is a scriptable multimedia engine with support for video, audio, graphics, and user interaction. It currently runs on Windows, and has a preliminary Macintosh port. It is based on PLT Scheme, wxWidgets, and the Quake 2 Engine. It includes a rudimentary IDE based on Scintilla.
travtrack is a tool to help a Traveller(tm) referee keep track of essential data for a game. Already implemented are galaxies, sectors, subsectors, systems, stars, planets, belt and moons. Yet to be implemented are trade routes, ships, characters, and all the rest. These will take some time, but should not be too complex. It currently uses the GURPS Traveller:First In rules for system generation, but a subproject is under way to add Classic Traveller generation and output. travlib is a collection of C routines that should make writing a Traveller application easier. A guile interface to the data representation functions is provided.
Momoko is a generic, object-oriented, modular, extensible environment for creating multi-user environments. It is suitable for writing MUDs, servers, and community-based Web sites. It is written in pure Java and supports Java and Python as internal scripting languages. Momoko provides facilities for organizing objects into tree-based hierarchies, orthogonal persistence, a transparent distributed objects system, remote access to source code and user files via WebDAV, a telnet-enabled shell for manipulating the object database, and an integrated build process which can be triggered remotely.
Astwar is a ncurses based simple space shooter; two little ships (asterisks), each on one side of the screen, try to shoot each other. There is network support with several multiplayer options and user extension with Scheme (via Guile) to program the little ship to do some things automatically are in the works.
