BOND (building object network databases) is database development framework for rapidly creating applications. It creates live forms for the Web with AJAX and desktop applications using GTK. Using XML to define widget layouts, it drives the live forms to which SQL statements and methods can be attached.
PhotoArch is written in PHP with some javascript. It is a front-end to a MySQL photography database. It allows you to index your photography collection for future searching and browsing. It can help you index mountable volumes with images (CD-ROMs or other), and will help you keep track of those modules. It allows you to make parts of your collection available over the Internet, to either the general public or a set of password-protected user logins.
pyPgSQL is a package of two modules that provide a Python DB-API 2.0 compliant interface to PostgreSQL databases. The first module, libpq, exports the PostgreSQL C API to Python. This module is written in C, and can be compiled into Python, or can be dynamically loaded on demand. The second module, PgSQL, provides the DB-API 2.0 compliant interface, and support for various PostgreSQL data types, such as INT8, NUMERIC, MONEY, BOOL, ARRAYS, BYTEA, etc. This module is written in Python, and works with PostgreSQL 7.0 or later, and Python 2.0 or later. Use of Python 2.1 or later, and PostgreSQL 7.1 or later is highly recommended. NB: pyPgSQL was previously released under the name 'PgSQL'.
EFEU is suitable for handling data cubes, which are especially useful for building data warehouses. It consists of a building system including mkmf (a xmkmf like Makefile generator), esh (a powerful C/C++ interpreter), efeudoc (a document generator with different output formats (LaTeX, HTML, roff, etc.)). EFEU has a huge set of C library core features, including robust memory allocation tools, functions to concatenate and copy strings with memory allocation, buffers for dynamically-growing strings and fields, data structures with reference counters and garbage collection, and file tools that allow you to specify pipes wherever a filename is expected and support automatic implementation of (de)compression filters (gzip) depending on filename extensions. It also includes a high-level interface to files, strings, and anything else you can read from or write to.
ELOG Electronic Web Logbook is an electronic logbook with a Web interface. It can be used to maintain personal or shared logbooks, with the ability to add attachments to logbook pages. Logbook entries can be categorized with user-defined classes, and queried using filters on these classes. Automatic email notifications can be generated on new entries based on the classes. The ELOG server is a small stand-alone C program, which runs under Linux and Windows. No other packages are required. The logbooks are saved in plain ASCII files for easy and fast access.
Copper is the feature-wise Linux port of the Windows-only software Golden32 by Benthic. It supports Oracle and MySql, and features a tabbed view to manager your queries, syntax highlighting, right-click updates, and a table/column browser.
aWebDap is an easy-to-use and flexible Web front end to OpenLDAP version 2. It allows one to query, view, create, delete, and modify LDAP entries. It is written with address book suppport in mind. It also supports VCARD, Mapquest/Google maps, LDAP URL address book interface (Outlook), Web-enabled cell phones, and multiple domains. Its capabilities are driven by a configuration file that defines options and user presentation. It can interface with Web servers with CGI support.
libdbi implements a database-independent abstraction layer in C, similar to the DBI/DBD layer in Perl. Writing one generic set of code, programmers can leverage the power of multiple databases and multiple simultaneous database connections by using this framework. The plugin architecture allows for new database drivers to be easily added by a third party with flexible licensing.
Empris (The Emergencies Personnel Information System) is a platform and database independent method for receiving job or volunteer resumes online, and subsequently evaluating, indexing, searching, and managing them. It is ideal for HR managers or volunteer coordinators. It was and is being developed for Oxfam Community Aid Abroad Australia using PHP.
