Fotoxx navigates an image collection using a thumbnail browser to choose images to view or edit. Edit functions include brightness, contrast, color, gamma, white balance, tone mapping, red eyes, sharpen, blur, noise suppression, smart erase, trim (crop), resize, rotate, add text, bend/warp, many art effects, HDR, HDF, stack, and panorama. Edit functions use movable curves and sliders. Feedback is live using the whole image. RAW files can be edited and saved with deep color. Areas or objects can be selected using freehand draw, follow edge, and tone matching. Selections can be edited in place with adjustable blending. They can also be cut and pasted into other images. Any metadata can be edited, reported, and searched (filenames, tags, dates, geotags, comments, captions, ratings, etc.). Collections (arbitrary subsets) can be defined and viewed. Batch functions are available for rename, resize/export, RAW conversion, and more.
Pyjama is an (unofficial) client for Jamendo, the free music community. It helps you to browse through Jamendo's database in order to find new albums. You can stream the music, create playlists, sort the albums by rating and tag, rate each track, and star albums you like most. An integrated Firefox instance helps you to interact with the Jamendo community.
Arista is an easy-to-use multimedia transcoder for the GNOME desktop. It focuses on the goal of transcoding media, namely the devices you wish to play the media on. It is designed for use by people who are not familiar with audio and video encoding and want an easy way to get multimedia to their devices. It supports input from DVD and V4L devices as well as regular files.
gSplit is a tool that allows you to split and assemble any files you want. It can be used to split big files to be able to store them on different devices. After assembling the different parts of a file, you can then check the file integrity to determine whether everything is now ready to use.
Conky Images Display is a program that displays the cover of the song currently playing. At the moment Rhythmbox, Amarok 1.4 and 2, and exaile are supported, but support for others is planned. It can also download missing covers. CID is fully configurable thanks to a simple configuration panel.
Cardpeek is a tool to read the contents of ISO7816 smartcards. It features a GUI to represent card data in a tree view, and it is extendable with a scripting language (LUA). The goal of this project is to allow smartcard owners to be better informed about what type of personal information is stored in these devices. The tool currently reads the contents of: EMV bank cards, Calypso public transport cards (such as Navigo and Mobib), GSM SIM cards, the French Vitale 2 health card, some Mifare cards, and Moneo electronic purse cards.
Scenic is a free software suite for streaming audio, video, and MIDI between live events. It was created at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) to give artists a powerful tool for telepresence in live arts contexts, and new media installations. The streaming is done over RTP with the GStreamer multimedia framework. Users can also choose low-bandwidth or high-quality codecs, depending on what is available on their system. It offers up to as many audio channels as your audio device supports. It consists of a desktop application and several command-line utilities: scenic (a Desktop application to stream audio, video, and MIDI over RTP); milhouse (streams audio and video over RTP); midistream (streams MIDI notes and controls over RTP); dc-ctl (controls connected DC IEEE 1394 cameras); firereset (resets an IEEE 1394 bus to help in case of problems); and jack-info (prints information about running JACK servers).
