shva is a Web-start graphical editor to hear, view, and annotate speech. It is designed to access speech databases over the Web. It opens from the browser when the user clicks on a link to an utterance. It then runs as a separate GUI application. Edited annotations are saved back to the database. It is currently deployed for the FreeCLAS seed database.
sinfo is a monitoring tool that uses a broadcast scheme to distribute information on the status of each computer on your local network. It supports CPU, memory usage, network load, and information about the top 5 processes on each computer. sinfo uses ncurses to display the information in an attractive manner.
skill sends signals to processes given any combination of user names, ttys, commands, and pids. snice changes the priority of processes (given the same). They are similar to kill(1) and renice(8), but the commandline is order-independent. There are also verbose, search, and interactive modes of operation.
