@1 Auto Delete deletes all files (in a specific directory) with dates older than the specified number of days. It can be useful if you have pages generated through user's input. It can be run manually from a browser, through telnet, or automatically using crontab. There are only two variables to edit - the directory, and the file age.
@1 Helpdesk XP Perl is a very powerful Web-based helpdesk system. It supports file attachments, hidden remarks, priority marking, etc. Unlike other similar products, this script does not use the conventional "assign/completed" method to close past tickets. Instead, it uses an intelligent method to sort/rank inquiry tickets. You can even tell whether your replies have been read by the visitors.
AFD is a program to automatically distribute files either locally or to remote hosts. The files are distributed by using FTP or SMTP, and can be sent in parallel and with priority. It provides a GUI to monitor and control the distribution and extensive logging of all activities.
The Advanced Bash Scripting Guide is both a reference and a tutorial on shell scripting. This comprehensive book, the equivalent of 1,000+ print pages, covers almost every aspect of shell scripting. It contains 382 profusely commented illustrative examples, a number of tables, and a cross-linked index/glossary. Not just a shell scripting tutorial, this book also provides an introduction to basic programming techniques, such as sorting and recursion. Included scripts are the Game of Life, a Perquackey variant, a Morse code trainer, and an implementation of the Gronsfeld Cipher. This book is suited for both individual study and classroom use. It covers Bash, up to and including version 4.2. Note that users of miniaturized single-board computers running Linux, such as the Raspberry Pi and the Beagle Bone, would find this Guide useful for learning and running Bash scripts to explore and expand the capabilities of these small, but powerful machines.
Augeas is a configuration API and editing tool. It parses common configuration files like /etc/hosts or /etc/grub.conf in their native formats and transforms them into a tree. Configuration changes are made by manipulating this tree and saving it back into native configuration files.
Autossh is a program to monitor and automatically reestablish SSH connections. It is similar to rstunnel (Reliable SSH Tunnel), however, it is implemented in C, and is easier to set up and use, especially for connections to multiple hosts. Autossh has been compiled and tested on OpenBSD, Linux, and Solaris, and should run without needing changes on FreeBSD and NetBSD.
